Mechanical Retracts
Mechanical retracts are available in a range of fixed retraction angles from 82º to 98º to suit most scale models. These units are of all metal construction, have positive up and down locks and feature balancing springs to ease servo operation.
Actuator
They are generally suitable for aircraft of up to 7Kg in weight. Each unit has a 5mm hole (for 6 gauge wire) to accept spring steel wire or to attach oleo legs. These units can be operated by either retract servo/s, pneumatic cylinders (we manufacture two sizes with adjustable speed control) or our high power, low speed electric actuator.
Fw 190
Special models are also available for specific applications, for example the Fw 190 which requires a retraction angle of 74°, and the Mosquito which has twin sprung struts retracting rearwards.
Mosquito
The Mosquito design can be manufactured/adapted to suit several other similar models with twin oleo legs, for example the Lancaster.
We also manufacture a small, lightweight but robust retract in conjunction with David Stapleton Engineering. This is manufactured from glass reinforced nylon and is suitable for smaller lightweight models up to '60' size.
Tail Retracts
It is available in different configurations and will accept 13mm oleo legs.
Lightweight tailwheel retracts are also available in different configurations.
